Is it ok to own or create a second Amazon seller account?

In the past there were a lot of hurdles and you couldn’t just open a second account. You needed complex approvals from Amazon, had to answer several questions about the project and opening a second account was a long process. Since the question comes up from time to time, here is a short update: You can, under certain conditions, open a second account – without having to get approval. Amazon clearly states the following here:

Amazon recommends that you only open a second selling account if you have a legitimate business need and all of your current accounts are in good standing. Amazon cannot make this determination for a seller, but examples of a legitimate business need are:

  1. Owning multiple brands and maintaining separate businesses for each – Example: Parent company has multiple brands and want to have separate storefront names for each
  2. Manufacturing products for two distinct and separate companies
  3. You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts Den dritten Punkt kann man übrigens super mit der aktuellen Accelerator Brand Kampagne verbinden.
